Chapter 2Verse 66

Sankhya Yoga

नास्ति बुद्धिरयुक्तस्य न चायुक्तस्य भावना। न चाभावयतः शान्तिरशान्तस्य कुतः सुखम्॥

nāsti buddhir ayuktasya na cāyuktasya bhāvanā, na cābhāvayataḥ śāntir aśāntasya kutaḥ sukham

Meaning

This traces a chain most people feel but never name. A mind pulled in ten directions can't think clearly, and without clear thinking there's no steadiness. Without steadiness there's no peace, and a restless mind never quite reaches happiness no matter how hard it chases it.

Reflection

A scattered mind finds no peace. And without peace, where would happiness even come from?
